So if I wanted to buy a machine and use it for business to Eliminate smells like smoke, cat pee, musky smells etc, do I need to be licensed?
I’m m not talking about being a mild specialist and remover of water and fire damage, simple removing smells?

Dear Darren,
There are no national or state license requirements for odor removal. The IICRC offers an odor removal specialist course for certification. Licensing in general is tricky, States and municipalities often pass illegal stautes saying that you cannot work without a license.
